Another One Bites the Dust

When I got this sewing machine I thought my life was made. It was easy to operate, it has awesome error messages that let me know what was wrong. It was easy to take apart and set up. I was in love. I have sewed 12 slings at least, and various other craft projects. We bonded :)

Now the friendship has turned ugly. I think of it sitting in my closet and I wish it would disappear, or perhaps change into a nice dependable machine instead of one that decides to sew great for one project then halfway through the next identical one, spit out stitches like a 5 year old hand sewing.

It has been like this the last 5 plus times I have sewn anything. It works fine, nothing is changed by me and then bam it freaks out. Normally re-setting everything up, tinkering, cleaning out the fuzz has done the trick. But not it seems like nothing makes it want to sew so much as a straight line. I am ready to pull my hair out.

To make matters worse I finally have people actually wanting to buy slings on a regular basis and I have nothing to do it with. I have already had to go up to my awesome mother in law's house twice to work on stuff, but driving a half hour is not so handy with a toddler.

So basically I am ready to commit. What is a sewing machine that will still be working when I go to teach my grandchildren how to sew some day. I am so done with a machine that has so much plastic it sounds more like a preschool toy than a professional machine.

Vent over . . . What should I buy?
