For the past year I have worked with the local cloth diaper company Chic Diapers, teaching classes on cloth diapering and assisting at special events. I also helped Chic maintain a basic inventory of diapers at a boutique near my home (it shares the same building as a Midwife clinic). Suddenly the owner of the boutique decided to take a different career path and announced that the store would be closing in a few days. Our local cloth diapering community was crushed as they would no longer have somewhere to look at diapers before purchasing them.
The owner of the building extended a gracious offer for us to take over the boutique and within two weeks we went from being a small scale company that specialized in local in person delivery with a basic online storefront to one with a full blown retail space. The space needed a complete overhaul (it had no retail shelving and was wall papered in "80's country" we spent every spare moment here getting the place ready to go.
While we still have aways to go we were able to have our soft opening this past Saturday. We will remain open our normal hours all week long and then have our Grand Opening extravaganza all next week (Monday-Satruday). I will be working at the shop every Tuesday evening, feel free to stop by and visit. Its been whirlwind and I am so blessed to have the partners I have, they are incredible.
"Naturally Chic currently stocks a large variety of cloth diapers (BumGenius, SoftBums, AppleCheeks etc, with plans to add more), baby carriers such as Lillebaby (soft structure) and Girasol (woven wraps), as well as amber teething necklaces and accesories. We have plans to greatly expand our babywearing (babycarriers) selection and to also carry nursing supplies.
